Homeless {but not Holmes-less}

{haha, get it? Not Holmes-less?
Like, cause our last name is Holmes?
Ha...ha?}

Okay, here's the story:
I am homeless
{Okay, technically, we {Jordan and I} are homeless}

So remember how I told you all that I was moving?
Well, we did.

Kind of.

Jordan and I are moving to California soon.
Like, we-have-to-be-there-in-September soon.

So, to save money, we decided to completely move out of our house,
Put everything in a storage unit,
and leave.

*Deep breath*
Here goes.

 Story:
Right before we left on our honeymoon
{literally, right before we left}
Jordan got news that we were to be at our next station by September 21.
Well, we were planning on going to Utah for a couple of weeks in August.
But then we wanted to go look for a house.

When we got back from our honeymoon,
we got permission {which is a big deal when you're in the military}
to go on "permissive TDY" {aka permission to go look for a house}
And combine it with leave {aka permission to go to Utah}.
 So we were planning to be gone for a month.
A month!

And when we get back, we will only be in town for a couple of weeks.
And then we are really {for reals} moving.

So since we were going to be gone for a month
And we have a few awesome friends who are willing to put up with us for a couple of weeks,
We decided to move out of our home,
Put it all into a storage unit {a very dusty one I might add}
And save the $1000+ it cost to live there.

But since we don't have a home in California
Or in Texas
{or anywhere else for that matter}
We literally, have no home.

And let me tell you,
it feels weird.

But I'm so grateful for good friends and family.
We would not have been able to do it without you...
{taking care of our cat
taking us in
watching our car
helping us move
etc
etc
etc}

p.s. Lots of driving + no stops + no wifi = no blogging time :(

Moving!

Guess what friends? My husband and I are moving from "Mexico", Texas {as in we live closer to Mexico than we do to Texas} to northern California!

We are {hopefully} going to put all our stuff into storage, leave for a month, come back, and move everything.

Oh, and did I mention we're doing this all by ourselves {like most people outside of the military do, but not many inside the military do}. So yeah, that'll be fun.

So if I'm a little scattered on my blog posts in the next couple of months. Please forgive me. I will do my best.

P.S. Did you enter my InPink giveaway yet?

New Home

A month ago, Jordan and I got married. We took off after our reception to our 2-day honeymoon. One night in Salt Lake City, Utah; one 8 hour plane ride (including layovers) to San Antonio, Texas; and one night in San Antonio Texas. Then we spent the next morning shopping at the stores that aren't in Del Rio, and then we drove the 3-hour drive to Del Rio, Texas aka the Border Town aka the Middle of Nowhere.

When we got there, we didn't have a house yet. So we stayed in Jordan's dorm. Great for one person. Not so great for two people, especially when one doesn't have anything to do all day. And is stuck in a small one-room dorm (literally the whole dorm is a single room), without any natural light.

Fast forward 3 weeks!!! We have a house! Jordan's parents and brother were awesome enough to drive our (read: my) stuff down from Utah.

Now that we have our stuff AND a house, I've started unpacking and creating a home. But that's kind of hard to do when you don't have places to PUT the stuff. We're getting that taken care of (albeit slowly: we bought a bookshelf--it was broken. We returned it and bought another--I just found out that one is broken too! Haha, should have checked it)

Even though we've been in this new house for going on 3 weeks, I still haven't unpacked everything, but when I do, I will post pictures :)
